4- jack, jack stands, any other safety equipment pertinent to the job
Installation
- DUE TO SHIPPING AND POSSIBLE HARSH CONDITIONS WHILE IN SHIPMENT IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU STICK BOTH ALIGHMENT TOOLS ON A GUARANTEED FLAT SURFACE TO DOUBLE CHECK THEY ARE COMPLETELY FLAT AND NOT BENT OR WARPED AS WE DO IN THE SHOP HERE AND MAY NEED TO BE BENT OR TWEEKED JUST SLIGHLY FOR MAXIMUM ACCURACY
- jack up front of the vehicle from the suggested lifting and jack lifting points by manufacturer
- set vehicle down on jack stands for safety under safe point on vehicle (look up safe lifting and jack stand usage if needed, or read safety and suggested information that came with jack and jack stands, OR vehicle manufacturer.)
- after vehicle is secure and safe, install alignment tools 1 on each front wheel
- now using your lug nuts you removed from your vehicle turn them around backwards to lightly tighten tool to the front hub assembly. If your lug nuts are not clear threw lug nuts you will need to get some with the correct thread pitch and size for your axle or vehicle. This is so the flat part of the lug nut bolts the tool to the hub and does not damage the taper on your lug nuts.
- It is easier if someone sits in the vehicle with foot on the brake or else wedge something to hold the brakes so the alignment tool will stay in place and the hub will not rotate. The tool should be parallel to the ground
- Now take your tape measure and measure from the 2 points on the tool side to side to get your measurements. (most alignments for the toe set between 1/8 and ¼ inches toe in meaning the front is slightly toed in or shorter then the back)
- You will need to adjust your tie rod ends to align and adjust the distances for setting your toe.
- It is recommended to also look on YouTube for a alignment video that may kind of help explain this process. This tool is just to make it easier and a even point rather that trying to measure off of the tires which are not always accurate.
- When your alignment distances are reached to your desire, put your tires back on the front (opposite of the removal in steps 2,3,4 and 5) once your tires are back on DO NOT FORGET TO RETORQUE YOUR WHEELS to manufacturer specs!!!!!!! If this is not done it is possible for your wheel to possible come lose or come off your vehicle.
Notes:
This should be done by a competent person that is very mechanically inclined. If this vehicle is for on road use it is suggested that you still take the vehicle in and have a professional alignment done by laser for most accuracy. Make sure to RE-TORQUE your front wheels or any that you have removed from the vehicle to manufacturer specifications. Painting Instructions
- Gun Targets may or may not be painted based upon customer’s preference, as the target is shot it will take off paint anyways. If you do choose to paint Targets it is recommended that you lightly sand product before painting as it will help paint stick to product. It is best to lightly do a coat of spray paint first let it become a little tacky then do a couple more little heavier coats and let dry. For best results it is recommended to paint products around 70 degrees or in a warm environment.
